We usually go to the famcamp at Maxwell AFB when we transient thru this way but we were unable to reach anyone there and read a review about Gunter Hill COE and how nice it was. So why not give it try, full hook up sites, shaded and easy access, only 6-7 miles from the base. We enjoyed our stay and will return without question!

Just returned from an incredible stay at Gunter Hill RV campsite! First off, the maintenance is top-notch; everything was clean, well-organized, and clearly taken care of daily. It made a huge difference knowing that the facilities were spotless and everything was in working order. The location is unbeatable! Whether youre looking to relax in nature or explore the nearby attractions, its perfectly situated to give you the best of both worlds. I loved being close to scenic hiking trails, while still being a short drive from town. And the water pressure? Fantastic! So many RV parks struggle with low water pressure, but not here. We had consistent, strong water pressure that made showers and washing up easy and enjoyable.Overall, it was a perfect camping experience, and well definitely be back. Highly recommend this spot to anyone looking for a well-maintained, well-located RV park with all the amenities you need!G. Lowe

The sites need more gravel on them to help make it safer to walk from the edges of the concrete. My husband fell and broke his wrist while we were camping there .

The camp site would been great if the grass was cut. They cut some of the sites but left our site and the one next to ours uncut and it was very high.

Great sites. Check in went very smooth and staff friendly. The bath rooms and laundry need to be updated. Overlook on the river is falling apart and needs to be rebuilt. Still one of our favorite campgrounds.

We only stayed overnight on our way home. It's a beautiful campground with spacious sites and the person that checked us in was very nice. Also appreciated that the site we were in had full hook ups. Now for the not so great: as we walked thru the campground the smell of sewer was everywhere. The bath house and laundry room was in dire need of cleaning and updating. We would consider going back for a longer stay if they could fix the issues listed.

It was cloudy and rainy so that didn't help. There was no access to firewood, the bathrooms needed cleaning and the showers were creepy. On the positives, the site had full hookups and were very inexpensive for seniors with a NP pass -$15/night.

Site 6 on the water. Level concrete pad. The 30amp electric on our site was not correct so we ended up using the 50amp with a dog bone. Water pressure would fluctuate so just be aware. Bathrooms were dated but clean. Overall a decent COE site.

The weather & facility were very nice.. the grounds were clean & was very close to Montgomery race track. The race facility was fun. The folks that work at Gunter Hill very friendly.

Gunter Hill is nicely laid out with generous spacing and well maintained bathhouses.

This campground is a family favorite for our family of 4. It has full hook ups, long spacious sites, on the water, with nice bike riding and water fun for the family. Each site come with fire ring, picnic table and grill.

We come from Birmingham for weekend trips and always feel rejuvenated after leaving this place. As with most all COE parks, the late check out of 3:00 pm allows campers (who want to) to take full advantage of a slow easygoing departure day

I have Verizon and my hubby has AT&T and we all had at least 3 or more bars the entire time, even on the water probably because this place is not that far from downtown Montgomery.

Overall this place just never disappoints for a quick weekend to 3 day weekend trip.
