Our visit was in January 2025 (shoulder season) easy check in, the restroom as farther then desired for someone handicapped.

We had a great time and met some very nice people. Yom and Ray Watson (managers at gate and check-in) are always very pleasant. They were kind enough to allow us to move to another site after the weekend, when park attendance was down, to get a site next to the water and with more shade. Love that couple and am always happy to see them manning the gate.

We loved the location of our campsite but what you deal with while being there is horrible. First, the ground keepers were very rude and not helpful at all. Second, there is a gate that closes and opens at certain times which are very inconvenient for people who take their campers up early and stay and go to work the next morning and not to mention again the ground keepers were so rude about letting us out to go to work. Lastly, Ants are horrible. Two suggestions one being get people to work there that are nice and don’t gripe about everything. Secondly, get a gate with a pin pad with a code for everyone so if people need to come and go as we did they can do so with out people being so hateful.

let me be clear, the campground and associated amenities are absolutely stunning. Wishing the individual sites had sewer, but that's a known before check in/reservation. The GRUMPY old man and woman at the check in booth need to be sent away though. We had qualified reservations for 4, 1 RV, and 1 Vehicle bought and paid for. The reservation office understood the people coming and approved it. When my wife and I showed up to check in, he told me under NO circumstances would the other couple be allowed in...as the sign says NO visitors. When I showed him on the reservation we had reserved for 4, he told me he could care less and that HE made the rules, not Reservation.gov. My wife and I are in our early 60s, in a Class A Motorhome. The other couple who live on the lake there also early 60's. They were not allowed into the park, they were not allowed to use their boat to visit our beach front site, even though other campers had their boats parked within 50feet of our site on the beach. We drove 200 miles each way after being told it was going to be okay, only to then be told it would not be. Our intent was to Barbeque, maybe have a fish fry and just socialize. SO it was a VERY disturbing situation and all because some JERK at the front check in booth thinks he runs the whole show and can pick and choose from the rule books or make up as he pleases. Note this was a return trip because we loved the park, did not have this problem when there before. One solution to this problem is the best. FIRE his ass for being a jerk to the customers. I would not have left this scathing review until I read that others had similar experiences of late. SO it rules out him "maybe having a bad day" in my book. Continued aggression towards the campers coming in only proves he has an issue and doesn't deserve or need to be in the position of power he has. He and his nasty wife need to be fired.
