Sites are large, paved and mostly level. They include a fire ring, grill, picnic table and small heavy duty wooden table. Most sites are directly on the lake. There are several playgrounds and a large fenced dog park. The bath house is standard issue and was clean. The dump station was clean. We stayed in site #3.

Top notch park The hosts are friendly and go out of their way to serve visitors.

We absolutely love White Oak Creek, with the only drawback being those pesky little ants! I realize it's Nature, but I really wish there was some way to control the little rascals. They infiltrate every nook and cranny of the camper, no matter how short your stay. Otherwise, the location, the sites, the staff... all are wonderful and promote a relaxing atmosphere.

We love camping at White Oak Creek. The waterfront campsites are the best around in my opinion :-)

I would have given 5 stars except for one issue. The ex-military "host' treating me as a private. I left the campground for the first time and when I returned, the sandwich boards were confusing. I pulled into the camper check in and stopped at the stop sign which is too far forward for the attendant to see the mirror pass. Instead of backing up and going to the inside lane, I just spoke to the lady at the window and told her my site number. The sandwich board for the inside lane was actually in the lane, partially blocking it. That was to allow checking in campers to have room for the outside lane.
I had been in my site for about 10 minutes when this black pickup with blacked-out windows came abruptly to a stop and out jumped Mr. "I am in charge"! He proceeded to berate me for my horrible mistake of using the wrong lane. I sailed in the Caribbean for 6 years, checking in and out of many different islands (countries). You could always tell the officials that took their newly found authority to the extreme. They wanted to put you in your place. This is how I felt about this host and told him so. He could have handled it entirely differently, but I feel he misses his role as a Drill Sergeant.
Now, other than my experience with him. The campground is a 5 with almost all the campsites clean, level, and lakeside.

We have been to White Oak several times. It is always neet and clean. If you like boating and fishing, it is a 10 on any scale. Looking forward to going back.

I made a reservation for two campsites on the Recreation.gov website. This location seems to have their own rules which are different from the rules stated on the Recreation.gov website. They have their own local rules that aren’t posted for the consumer to see. The staff is not very friendly and when I politely asked for the local staff to show me on the website, where I made my reservation, the rules and regulations he was telling me they have locally, he couldn’t. If there are specifics to each park, they need to be noted on the reservations page for the consumer to be able to read and see for themselves if that is the park they would like to visit. Due to my experience at this park, I will sadly not be back.
