Very nice area to camp even with no showers it was a very nice campground. The showers were just down the road and they were pay showers luckily we have a shower so we didn't have to use the off site ones but the little store with the showers had decent prices if you needed anything.

Campsite was clean and level. Bathroom was clean. The campground was only half filled yet I was on a waiting list to get in. NPS should encourage campers who dont show up to receive a full credit if someone else fills their spot.

Amazing campground. Great location to all of rest of Acadia NP and surrounding cities.
level sites with lots of trees. Great staff and volunteers (joe). Sites clean and neat. Dump good condition.

Acadia is a stunningly beautiful park, which we were able to enjoy using Seawall as our base. As a place to park your camper trailer, however, even our 18-footer, it is less than optimal. We found the sites too closely spaced, with some having, literally, a blue dividing line painted on the ground to separate adjacent sites. Like campgrounds at most of the National Parks we've visited, the sites have no electric or water hookups, and at Seawall, no showers in the bath house. Still, we enjoyed our two nights there, and met some nice people.

As with most national parks, The Rangers and staff were excellent and friendly. Unfortunately, as with most national parks, some of the guests just don't seam to get the whole idea of peace a quiet. A party left their two dogs unattended for the whole day. Law enforcement was able to deal with it, but they were pretty loud and quite vicious for many hours. Another "neighbor" just sat in their running car with the AC on all day. We are a couple that goes to state and national parks to enjoy nature and get away. We typically are out early and back to camp well before 10AM when the crowd invades the park. Out again in the evening when most are nursing their sunburns or paying $$$ in a tourist trap for a lobster diner.

There are two nice and easy hikes near Seawall. Wonderland and Ship Harbor. Both are about a mile out and end near the beautiful rocky coast. Right across from the campground is the picnic area. It is a great place to sit in the morning (for sunrise) with coffee. The picnic area can get busy for sunset, but there is plenty of room.

If you are camping, you may not be interested in restaurants, but if so, The Seafood Ketch in Bass Harbor is a good, reasonable place with a nice view.

It's a good 25 minutes to Park Loop Road in the main part of the park, so take that into account. If the crowds in the big attraction area (sand beach, thunder hole, otter cliffs) are too much for you, just head over to the Wildwood Stables area. You can park there and hike the carriage roads seeing virtually no one in the middle of the day. We are fond of the hike up to day mountain which provides nice views of the surrounding area. About 4 miles + 550 foot elevation change on a gentle grade.

Firewood in June of 2021 is free. It is exposed to the environment so if it has been raining a lot, you need to let it dry out or you will make a lot of smoke. Also be aware that there are a lot of mosquitos in Maine. Seawall and Acadia are no exception.

Seawall is well kept campground. Visitors are respective of the rules (especially those with generators). We can walk to the shore and short drives to visit the small towns in the area.
