The camp site is excellent for smaller tents. it is located in the forest, and therefore also suitable at very hot, sunny weather. The landscape of the park including the seaside is beautiful. An disadvantage is that the Acadia Park is splitted in quite small pieces separated by broad public roads open for all cars. As always the rangers were very nice and helpful (as, in my experience, in all national parks I visitited from Germany). Anyway, the National Parks are the best part of the U.S that should be preserved.

A week at Seawall was amazing! The NPS staff was knowledgeable and helpful, and more friendly than I expected. We sought out quiet areas (not the popular ones) and were able to recreate without crowds or annoying, loud people. Getting an early morning start helps. Thank you, Gotts, for the Buzz coffee (twice the caffeine) and Mainely Meats for when I tired of my own cooking. Fellow campers were wonderful and respectful of campground rules and quiet hours. We were able to check off everything on our list, and found a couple of new places and activities. Although the Island can seem crazy and congested, if you avoid the tourist traps you can find the most pristine, quiet places and have them almost to yourself. And no, I am not going to tell you where they are. The enjoyment lies in finding them for yourself!

Quiet place. Saw deer in campground. Only complaint is that it is far from main part of Acadia. But beautiful.

I very much enjoyed camping on the quiet side. Other campers were quiet and polite and there was a very relaxed atmosphere.
