Beautiful campsite in a more calm side of the park. Beautiful sea views from picnic area across the street

I split my time between Blackwoods and Seawall. Blackwoods was convenient to visiting the major attractions at the park, but I much preferred the quieter side of the island and camping at Seawall campground. Would definitely stay here longer next time!

Seawall Campground is well located on the "quiet side" of the island. Our site was very private, level and clean. It's very easy to access the parking area for the Seawall picnic area across the way, and we loved watching the moon dance on the water the water while we had our picnic dinner (we were there in September when the sun sets earlier!).

Both campground and seaside picnic area of park were extremely well kept and comfortable.
Rangers were helpful and friendly and instructions were very clear.

We visited the second week of October. The campground was quiet and clean. Our campsite was spacious - plenty of room for two tents. Although we could see the next campsites, they were often empty mid-week despite it being peak leaf-peeping season. Weekends were more crowded, but not intolerable. There are nice restaurants in nearby Southwest Harbor if you prefer not to cook in camp. One is not allowed to go off campsite to hang lines (as for a tarp) so it's a good idea to have some kind of picnic shelter in case of rain. There are some very nice hikes a short drive away such as Sargent Mountain and trails around Echo Lake. Cadillac Mountain and the iconic loop road drive are 30-40 minutes away by car depending on traffic. The Schoodic Peninsula is about an hour's drive away but well worth the trip. Plan for no showers while you are at Seawall. There is a nearby facility that offers showers at a ridiculously expensive price for two minutes of hot water. Their hours were very limited in October. All in all we had a wonderful time and would definitely recommend a stay at Seawall Campground.
