We're traveling full-time in the first couple years of retirement and I would say our time at Acadia ranks as the best time we've spent anywhere. We took the mail boat out of N.E. Harbor to the Cranberry Islands, saw the sun come up on Cadillac Mtn. and hiked much.

We took the last site available for a one-night stopover booking the day before and it was great. Enjoyed an evening around the fire. The bathrooms are VERY well maintained and clean. You can walk across the street from the campsite to the sea, which is a beautiful setting. Its a pebbled shore where we watched the moon rise. Absolutely spectacular. If you want to walk on carriage trails youll have to go for a 20 minute drive. We didnt launch kayaks for this stay, but that would also take a drive - unless you want to go stumbling over the pebble beach.

Nice place. Great location. No showers but otherwise fine. Bathrooms are really clean

Loved the campground. Not too far from all the sites to be seen - Cadillac Mountain, The Carroll Honestead and the one-way loop.

Seawall was a perfect retreat for the weekend. I arrived at 11pm, and there was a helpful after hours display to help me get to my campsite. Make sure to take a walk across the road to the beach to see the stars at night! I highly recommend asking the rangers for tips about hiking trails during busy season. I ended up doing Beehive (get there before 8am), and Mt. Sargeant mountain (if you're looking for a serious challenge). I would stay at Seawall again in a heartbeat. The only complaint I had is that there weren't showers on site and I couldn't find anything outside of the general store with pay showers, but it didn't open until 9am and closed before sundown.
