I loved being able to fall asleep to the sound of the ocean every night. I recommend taking the time to explore the less traveled parts of the island and getting some fresh lobster where the locals go. And Charlotte's is a great place to pick up a lobster roll or a haddock sandwich and take it with you. The downside of this campground - showers are a mile away and you need lots of quarters! I can't finish a review without mentioning the bus service and how efficient and friendly it is. There were two different routes that stopped at Seawall and gave us some flexibility when we were planning our hikes for the day. The bus to Bar Harbor is the best way to go - no worries about parking!

We stayed at site A38 and had a fantastic stay! All of the sites in the A loop seemed pretty well spaced out where you got a fair bit of privacy. It was very quiet and you can hear the ocean all night long. If you want to be in the middle of the action this is not the campground to be at but if you're willing to travel a little further to have some peace and quiet in the evenings then I highly recommend Seawall!

We had a very good experience at the campground: our site was very private (although we saw other sites that do not have any privacy) and the restrooms were super clean and well maintained. The lack of showers is a serious weakness but then one gets a real camping experience... The location is great -- the camp is right next to a beautiful beach and close to a couple of amazing trails, and, importantly, away from the crowds of Bar Harbor and staple sites listed in all park guides. There is plenty of civilization around: coffee shops, ice cream, a bakery, a bike shop, restaurants, etc... even hot showers. (And this is a review of the site A31 -- we got reassigned)
