The campground was quiet, water wasnt too far, running water bathrooms in good condition. Site was better privacy than most due to some small trees between site and road. AT&T 5G service was great at this site, plenty of room for tents and a single vehicle.

I think that showers would be a big improvement to the camping experience, particularly, by Day 3. Staff friendly and helpful as always.

Overall, we loved this campground. The park employee who checked us in was rather rude and essentially accused us of stealing someone else's park pass--a pass we purchased months ago and have used all over the country--but the campground itself was very nice. I loved that it was connected to so many trails, so you could walk right out of your site and start a gorgeous hike.

Great location, short hike to the Thunder Hole area of the Loop Road and other sights sight as Sand Beach, the Beehive Trail, and the Gorham Mountain trail. The Cadillac Mountain South Ridge Trail starts just outside the campground.There is a direct Island Explorer Bus to Bar Harbor from the campground. Connections to or from most other locations on the island can be made from Bar Harbor or via another bus to the Hulls Cove visitor center.Our tent site was adequately sized although it was a little difficult to find a flat, level spot for our tent.Cellphone service was excellent on T-Mobile and AT&T at 5G and 4G LTE. Pay showers and firewood were available in the village of Otter Creek just outside the campground.

We LOVE Acadia National Park and Blackwoods Campground. We have stayed there twice in the past 3 years. Can't imagine staying anywhere else. Love the short hike to the shoreline. Love listening to the ships signalling with their fog horns. Love the drives around the park loops! Restrooms are ALWAYS clean!

There are limited options for staying in the park itself - but was definitely worth it to be right in the center of everything and minimize driving!! My site was spacious and had some amount of privacy despite size of the campground. I appreciated seeing so many other tent campers nearby (not just RVs, like some places). Generally clean, well maintained, and had all the basics you expect from a national park campground. Because of traffic patterns, it can be a long drive to certain parts of the park, so just plan your days and routes carefully. But overall definitely recommend if you want to maximize your time in this beautiful place!
