Site B52 is not flat enough for a camp van. We were lucky to be reassigned a different site (A33). Staff was very helpful. Great views from the ocean trail from the campground, and better than fighting the crowds on the park loop.

Camping area is nice but the washrooms werent as clean as some of the others I have seen in national parks. There was no hand soap which is typically available in other washrooms.

We came for the camping and hiking and were not disappointed. Beautiful hikes from Pinnacle to carriage trails. So much to choose from depending on your time and temperament.

Blackwoods Campground was an excellent choice! I went with a couple of friends of mine and we really had a great time. The area is beyond beautiful and we seemed to have great accommodations. We were able to fit 2 tents on our tent site, which was only a 5-10 minute walk to the ocean! Waking up early and walking down to the shore for sunrises was phenomenal. The campground itself is conveniently located near the ocean, trails we hiked on, Bar Harbor and a small 24 hr facility literally just outside of the park containing showers, ice and wood. (I recommend getting wood at the next roadside seller, as its slightly cheaper per bundle and the bundles are larger.) We stayed for a few days and I would have stayed longer had it not been for rain in October. Bring warm gear if youre here this time of year...it can be very windy on the coast! I would definitely recommend this campground to anyone looking to enjoy the beauty of Acadia National Park. Also, book a site early to get one of the better sites! The sites vary in closeness and may not be as isolated as some folks are used to. But thats okay, as we made friends with our neighbors! Cheers!

Nice location. Not the best site you can get. Rangers putting notes on people with hammocks.
