Blackwoods is the perfect location for doing the most popular hikes in Acadia (South Ridge Trail, Bee Hive Trail, Thunderhole, etc.) . We stayed for 3 nights; everyday we hiked from the campground to the trails we wanted to hike that day without driving a single time. The bathrooms at the campground are always clean and it is also within walking distance to a paid public shower so we were able to shower after our long hikes.

What a great campsite. Spots are well laid out, and well spaced from each other and facilities. Firepits well maintained. Bathrooms are spotless, cleaned every day. Regular trash collection.Info booth has good resources; evening presentations are fun.Access to showers just across the road.Good location for trails (especially Cadillac), and proximity to town/Bar Harbor.

It's a great place to get together for a weekend, enjoy the outdoors, enjoy the small village feel of Bar Harbor and to relax.

Blackwoods campground is an oasis. The lush woods are soothing after a day of exploring, the sound of the ocean or the wind in the trees will gently wash over you as you fall asleep. Truly, after a day of exploring the park there is nothing better than coming back to such a beautiful and convenient campground. I though the check in/out process was easy, the restrooms we're clean and convenient to access, and being so close to the Cadillac South trailhead was a treat. I'd love to go back some day soon!
