We visited in late May. The campground was as we expected for most National Parks- sites are fairly close together. However, we didnt feel overly crowded. We were in loop A site 82. We were in a 30 ft travel trailer and had to raise our front pretty high to get to level. As we drove through the campground there were many nice site. The site was spacious enough to put up our screen house too. Be aware that leaving the campground can be tricky with the trees. We had to maneuver quite a bit.The campground is close to things on the Bar Harbor side. So we got to theJordans Pond area as well as doing the park auto loop and hikes along there. With our dog we had a chance to explore. Bathrooms were well maintained. We will be back!

Blackwoods was a great campground! It was clean and the park rangers were helpful and efficient. It was centrally located and the shuttle bus stopped there. We didn't use the shuttle service, but what a great way to get around. We hiked Beehive and Precipice and did a long bike ride on the carriage trails starting at the Jordan Pond House. It was a great trip!

We arrived late in the day; set up our camper at Blackwoods campground and went for a hike on a nearby trail. Since it was than last night of the camping season in the park, we didn’t have a lot of time to do hiking near us. The next morning we cleaned up and went to Jordan Pond and hiked the loop around the pond.
I highly recommend this campground. The set up was good, they had a dumpsite for campers, and water to refill your vehicle. The campsite itself was quiet, and there were toilet facilities nearby. An excellent place to stay!

Every aspect of the stay was excellent. The rangers were helpful, the washrooms were exceptionally clean, and the noise level at night was non-existent. All good. Great location.

spacious and family-friendly. Cheap, hot showers.

The RV site we were on was very sloped, and we couldn't figure out a way to get reasonably flat. We ended up leaving and not staying at the campground. It looked like most of the RV sites were similarly sloped. I think the parks service should invest some effort into making the RV sites more usable to RVs.

Very helpful rangers working at the front desk. Nice sites. Quiet - even in the generator section. Good stay.
