We reserved site A4, which was smaller than expected, and didn't have as much tree cover as other sites; however, it was close to the restroom without being on the direct path, and close to the path that leads to the ocean. In general, the sites are pretty close to one another, but spread out enough that you have sufficient privacy. Overall, it worked well for our needs. If you want to be closer to Otter Creek and showers, then a B loop site would be better.

I was there mid October when the campground was on a first come first served basis. I arrived at 8 am, signed in, set-up my tent and off we go. The campground is quite central and close to many of the popular trails; ocean path, beehive, bowl trail, Graham mountain trail on the east, which I did first day of my trip. Second day I started early and headed to Cadillac Mountain through Cadillac south ridge trail. It is a long trail, but very much worth the effort. Last day I did Jordan pond, the bubbles and connors nubble, although to start the hike I drove to Jordan Pond parking lot. The park is spectacular, especially during the fall. I recommend the park during the week, less traffic and you can easily not see a human for miles (if you enjoy that).
