Met all our expectations (based on many NPS campgrounds nationwide) and matched most of my childhood memories although there seemed to be less pink granite on the nearby coast!

The proximity of the campground to hiking trails, like Cadillac Mountain, was a big plus! Easy drive to Bar Harbor and the Park Loop road! Highly recommend activities like rock climbing, cycling and sea kayaking. There are lots of great outfitters in close proximity.

Rain or shine we hike, bike or kayak - which ever seems best for the day.

Blackwoods Campground was in great proximity to all the attractions of Acadia NP. It was a bit of a challenge to get reservations with all the competition, but persistence paid off. Campsite was sufficiently roomy for our camper van, and bathrooms were clean. The only downsite was the presence of generators, which are alloed during mealtimes. This of course is about the worst time for folks who want to enjoy a pleasant dinner - usually we would leave the campground and have our meals elsewhere. A recommendation would be to ent camp, where there are no generators.

My fourth stay at Acadia National Park. Always a great experience. My only regret is that I made my reservation too late and I was only able to book a site in loop A, where generators are allowed - the only annoyance. But that was entirely my fault; next time, I will make sure to book earlier to be in loop B.

Nice site. Clean. Big by National Park Standards so we did not feel like we were camping with our neighbors. Staff friendly and helpful in getting our stay extended by a day with a very full campground. Would stay there again next time we are up there.
