I stayed three nights at three different camping spots in Blackwoods and LOVED IT. SO very peaceful and quiet, ample restrooms and potable water spigots to refill, very good roads, a fire ring and picnic table at each. I loved the trees and how each campsite wasn't rightalongsideupagainst the next one, but had strips of trees and vegetation between to give a semblance of privacy. Ranger Steve in the entrance house where you check in was so friendly and kind. Loved him. The only quibble I had was at the last campiste I stayed in. The previous campers had left used toilet paper in the fire ring. I didn't want to touch it, and didn't want to burn it either, even if I wasn't cooking. Then I found a pile of dog poo. I just got back in my van and stayed in it the rest of the night, not using the campsite itself, just the parking part. If the rangers don't already, it'd be a good idea to peek in the fire rings and take a cursory look around the site for these things when driving by to see that everyone's left by checkout time.I still took advantage of the peace and had a good night's sleep, so not a total loss.

No showers in the National Park campgrounds but the bathrooms are good. Showers outside camp on Rt 3 are a complete rip-off joke. $1.75 to start and 25 cents for every additional 15 secs. Alarm beeps to warn you but when multiple showers beep you don't know if its yours. Also takes the first minute to get the right water temp. Total Joke. Buy ice across from the showers. Ice blocks for $3 and camp wood $4.

Great, cool site. Located in nice forest, was quiet and felt private despite being near others. Not overly buggy, really liked the site. Bathrooms were very clean, wish there were showers on site.

Acadia in general and Blackwoods CG in particular met all our expectations. Reasonably spaced sites in the woods provided a quiet and restful atmosphere. We loved the opportunity to hike up Cadillac Mtn right from our campground as well as the easy trail access to the ocean. Next time we will plan to stay longer than 4 days. There so much to see and do in Acadia!!
