So I’ll start off with the good about Blackwoods campground. It was absolutely beautiful. The bath houses were also very nice and clean. The bad, we had to move our sprinter van three times over the course of three nights. We asked at the ranger Station if there was a site that would be empty for three nights in a row so we didn’t have to move and were told that the campground was full.So it was a mystery when we woke up every morning to find many many unoccupied sites. I also don’t understand why there are large boulders at the entrance to every campsite? They make it dangerous for folks who are trying to park their vehicles, walk around the campsite, get some thing out of their trunk etc. etc. another mystery is why they don’t sell firewood at the campsite? When we arrive we were told to go back out on the road and find some that people were selling on the side of the road. Another mystery to me is why you would have folks cleaning the bathrooms at 7:30 AM when everyone in the campsite is trying to use them. It seems to me that a better time for cleaning would be the middle of the day when everyone is out and about in the park.

Excellent campground! Quiet, easy access to the ocean was incredible. Staff very freindly and helpful. Sites very well maintained. Bathrooms very clean and well attended,
Great experience.

Honestly, the campsites here are on top of each other. The facilities were well-maintained, and it’s always nice to have the luxury of running water and flushing toilets…but I wouldn’t stay here again. We had 3 sites adjacent to ours and we could hear every word of their conversations, we were that close. Every night was crying babies, barking dogs, whining children, and drunk 20-somethings. I feel like an old curmudgeon, but I think I’ll stick to backcountry camping from now on.
