We are seniors and have climbed many of the mountains. We loved them all. The views, evergreen trees are beautiful.Whatever your choice, one cannot get it wrong.

We had a wonderful experience! Smooth check in, clean restrooms and nice campsites spaced far enough apart so youre not on top of each other. Campground itself is in a great location less than 15 minutes drive to just about anything in the park! The only downside, and its a minor one, is that you had to drive to the showers up the road That being said, the showers were clean And there were plenty of them so wasnt crowded at all. Will definitely camp there again!!

Facility was very clean, staff super friendly and helpful, and overall very quiet and tranquil. Nice to be able to hike to Thunder Hole, Sand Beach and Cadillac Mountain from the CG. Just wish there were access to bike paths or carriage roads.

Traveling in early October during the week, my daughter and I didn't expect the campground to be crowded, and it wasn't. We were able to drive in and pick out a site which just happened to be the furthest from campsites surrounding us, so that we truly felt it was private. It was COLD however, in the low 40's, and we built campfires each of the 3 nights we were there. The cold isn't really a problem though- you have to expect cold, or rain, or bugs... what we did NOT appreciate and could not control however, was the noise level of that group of campers W-A-Y over there... 3 large yellow tents (identical- some sort of organized group?) when only 2 are allowed per site, and a noisy bunch of adults all talking/laughing at once. I walked down and spoke to them politely about lowering their voices- it was getting near 10 pm at this point- and they were apologetic enough, but with a group so large, their volume was back up within minutes and I knew it was hopeless. Of course I wished there was a "night ranger" whose sole job was to remind campers of quiet hours and to make sure folks are camped legally... who perhaps could be reached with a phone call? But what are the odds that an understaffed National Park crew would have the capability? It really is up to all of US to "police" sites- if say, 4 groups around them had gone over to complain, or there WAS a # to call, that group perhaps would have been more considerate. It only takes ONE group in a campground to make everyone somewhat miserable. FORTUNATELY that large group was only there 1 night, and my daughter and I could enjoy our peace and quiet (and cold) the next 2 nights. Perhaps during the summer season the campground has a designated "campground host" that makes it their responsibility to patrol the campground and speak to extra loud groups? It can't be a fun job however. I'm sorry to complain, but I've simply had SO many wonderful nights in NP campgrounds (36!), I wanted this to be ideal, for my daughter's sake.
