We reserved a spot at Blackwoods campground for 4 nights, but only ended up staying for 3. The site was fine enough- the fire pit and picnic table were in good condition and we appreciated the shade the trees provided. The campground bathrooms were clean, which I appreciated. Our main issue is that the campers at the sites around us were SO loud and obnoxious. I really wish the host/rangers did a better job enforcing quiet hours and overall respectful/considerate behavior. The other issue is that the nearby showers suck. It's a pretty stressful experience having to add more quarters every 15 seconds.

Campsites too close but understandable and necessary due to high visitation. Bathrooms clean and convenient. Central to Acadia sites

Its a very convenient campground to enjoy Acadia park. Its also very close to Bar Harbor which is a cute town.

Great experience! Bathrooms were clean. Plenty of water stations nearby. The site itself was clean and clearly demarked. The trails to Cadillac Mountain and Hunter's Beach right from the campgrounds was a huge plus. Would absolutely recommend and camp again!

Excellent Stay. If you Have Verizon you roam on the new ATT tower to 1X coverage. This creates voice only coverage on Verizon rendering a cell phone booster is useless for Data coverage from a further away tower like I used to do. Please call 611 on Verizon and complain to get this fixed.

There seemed to always be confusion between staff, at the gate. We managed to get past that. We wanted to extend our stay by one day. We were, first told there would be no openings. Later, when we checked again, there was an availability but we had to pack up our campsite and move a good distance away. We checked, each time we came back to the campground and our site was empty. As we were leaving, the next day, our new checkout time. A camper showed up at our former space. We weren't too happy about that, as we were camping with a four and a two year old. It was rather disappointing. The Park, was terrific and other than the above, we had a great time.

The site at Blackwoods are a little older, and no showers, but the site themselves have decent privacy and beautiful trees all around. It is a good location within Acadia and allows you to hike easily. The buss that goes to and from Blackwoodsreally only connects with the other busses in Bar Harbor, so it takes a while to get anywhere. With that being said, it allows for great views of the park and is dog friendly. I will be back!
