multiple comments. First, the core campground is nice. We did not have problems with the campground or the facilities that were there. Problems: Not having a place to wash dishes is problematic. The gray water dump is fine, but then folks were just washing dishes there, sort of, or doing it in the bathroom anyhow. Just set up outside stations! Second, no showers really is a problem too. We made it work, but think it would be a fantastic. improvement. Other comments relate to the park. We were there is August and park was packed. Restricting cars during certain hours and increasing the number and frequency of buses could really help, like is done at some other national parks. We had some places we never got to go. Access to buses really isn't clear - as a bus driver told us (on our last day) we could just wave down a bus anywhere on the route. It could have really been helpful. The bus passes right at the bottom of the campground, but the bus stop is a long way up to the top by the ranger station. Obviously the poor/ convoluted access to circle road from the campground is not great.

Great place to relax and enjoy nearby trails and close to Bar Harbor.

Our campsite was well maintained, the bathrooms were clean and well maintained. Convenient dump facility and water filling area. We had a very nice stay at Blackwoods.

Super convenient that you can take the bus to Bar Harbor or anywhere along the loop road right from the campground. You can also hike out of the campground to some of the major sights. Only bummer is the lack of showers.

Best park campground location to be near the big park attractions.
