We had the campsite I had selected which was very private and both close to the bus at the loop road and at the entrance. The bathrooms were clean even though it was mid summer and the staff friendly. Great experience.

Stayed at A29. It was a perfect campsite for us. It was quite secluded compared to some of the other sites and had a number of large rocks for the kids to play on. Also very close to the path to the ocean.Only 3 major downsides:-The bathroom is a little far away. It would be nice if they created a trail through woods to it. -No shower-It was a bit small for out 14x10 canvas tent, but we made it work.

We had a great four night stay at Blackwoods and highly recommend this campground for car camping in tents. We stayed on the A loop and found the campground to be very quiet at night, had clean bathrooms, and had direct access to the dramatic rocky coast and trails up to Cadillac Mt. The campground is a short drive to Sand Beach, the park loop rd and other Acadia hot spots. While there is no ice or wood sold inside the campground, there are places to buy them just outside the campground within a minute drive to the left.

This campsite has a large mossy rock area next to it that is great for kids to explore. It is a brief walk to the sea cliffs as well.

Quite, clean, and well forested. Our site was nice but tight for our large 9-person tent. Very convenient location. Bring ratchet straps for your coolers - a pack of very noisy coyotes ravaged our site one night because we foolishly left dishes and food on the table. Trail to the ocean is wide. smooth, and easy to stroll after dark for star gazing, but ocean overlook at the end of the trail is small and usually occupied so to find a vantage point you might be scrambling on ledges where a fall could be dangerous. Magic at night but recommend first visit in daylight to learn terrain. The South Ridge Trail that starts at the camp ground and leads to the summit of Cadillac is a great family hike: you're rewarded with great ocean views for the last mile, mostly easy and smooth and only one or two ledges near the summit where your dog or small kids might need help over. Rated as moderate due to length over 3miles and about 1000ft vertical one way.
