I had a wonderful time. I stayed two nights, unfortunately I had to move camp site for each night, due to low availability on line. Once I got there I realized there were many open camp sites. I enquired during check in if there was a possibility for me to stay in one site both nights, staff informed me that this was not possible because people had reserved these spaces, fair enough. I was asked to "check-out" before 10 and "check in" again after 1....no worries. Sure extra work, but I got it. Early morning I take a look at my upcoming site... and it's empty (no-one had been there the previous night)... I asked a young ranger at the front desk if I could "check in" early since no-one was in the spot... he was agreeable and I was excited.... it had rained and all my equipment was wet... now I could jus shake things off and sat it back up without having to "pack things up".I moved my camp stuff... I was set up at my new place just after 10am.... about to leave when an "older" ranger approached me quite upset, stating that this was not allowed...I should have waited to enter my space to after one... this was not how it was suppose to work. I was baffled.... the camp ground was half empty, it was rainy, this was my site... and he was visibly upset. Why was it to difficult for this ranger to do something nice for someone...I would have understood it I was late checking out, or if I was hovering over someone trying to get out.... I was honestly taken back by the lack of understanding and willingness to do something nice without it affecting anyone else... I'm sure this ranger is good at his job... but he sure could use a little training when it comes to customer service.I got on my bike and the lovely surroundings of Acadia got me back to a nice place. Park was clean, guests were pleasant, maps and trails provided were excellent. A beautiful place...I will sure be back !!!!Best-Edita

The whole place is super organized, quiet and with everything you need to have a great experience. It is close to many options to start hiking trails and if you don't want to use your car, it has an internal bus stop that has options to go to the whole park.Inside the campsite there are bathrooms very close to each spot, clean and functional 24/7. It also has areas to throw away the garbage, throw away liquid waste and wash your dishes and utensils. Everything for great comfort. The phone signal, in my case I use T Mobile and it worked perfectly at the campsite, not so much on the road or on hiking.

I did not like how close the campers next to me were. There was barely anything in between sites once you pass the stone wall area by the car. One of my least favorite sites at Blackwoods.
