Our family loved the campground. (Previous camper said that there was a sharp incline down to the site, which we did not notice.) Great location to many of the hikes and things to do around Acadia/MDI. Bathrooms were clean and felt newer than other campgrounds we've visited (they even had an outlet to charge iphone etc.) Site is shaded and feels more private than many of the other sites! Would definitely stay here again!

Campsite is conveniently located near the bathrooms. Neighbors respected quiet hours and I had no issues with generator noise etc. However, be prepared for folks to illegally snap and burn downed wood rather than paying for local firewood, which not only kicks up more dust and creates more smoke, but also makes an awful racket. This campsite does not have a great view of the sky but it is very peaceful and for a two-person tent there is a nice very flat spot, no issues setting up the tent.

My pup and I had the best time ever. I felt very safe as a lone female camper for the first time. Even though there were a lot of people it wasn't crowded or noisy. The park Rangers were incredibly friendly and helped us find the beautiful ocean view spot. I would love to return here with my friends and family

Clean and quiet campground. Ice, water and coin op showers and firewood extremely close by. (Self pay so have cash) Access to many hiking paths within the campground including ocean path and south entrance to Cadillac mtn. Cell service in the campground no issues but none in other areas of the park. Would stay here again no doubt.!

Its beautiful here. The campsites are kept very neat and organized. My only suggestion is to mark the showers more clearly on the maps.

Loved the quiet even with lots of other people. Everything was easily located such as trash, water dumping locations and water. They provide places for dirty dish water that helped with clean up and kept the camp sites in good shape. I appreciated the minimum light so we could see stars!!Loved that the south ridge trail to Cadillac Mountain started in the campground!!

We love Blackwoods campground and have been coming here for over 30 years, however we did not like the site we were staying at this time. It was like being in a deep bowl and very difficult to back into which is how we like to unpack and use our car while camping. The angle was also tight the way the boulders were placed on site. Quiet hours are 10pm to 6am. We had a very rude neighbor at 8pm ask us to lower our music (which was already low and playing from a cell phone). They should have stayed in a motel room where they would have 4 walls if they wanted dead silence. Pros - bathrooms looked updated and were kept very clean. Showers across the street always a plus. And love Otter Creek Market nearby.
