This is a beautiful campground. They have a few great trails to hike and close to Bar Harbor. My only thing I would want from here would be showers. There is a shower house a minute from the campground, I recommend skipping that ( 15 seconds for for .25!) the water is either freezing or will give you blisters (literally) go to the YMCA in Bar Harbor-$8 no time limit. Back to the campground- the sites are large and beautiful. Campground is fairly quite , they staff do an amazing job at keeping the bathrooms clean . I highly recommend this campground. The scent of pine and salty air fills your lungs and you will definitely unwind and find a deep relaxation here.

The campsite is very beautiful. Nice wooded areas, the sites are decently private with some distance between each other. Check-in process was very easy and the ranger at the station was very helpful. Now the less positive notes... Half of the bathrooms were not operative for this season. Was it because of Covid? That would make no sense since fewer bathrooms mean that the remaining bathrooms would be more crowded. I don't know what is the reason behind these closed bathrooms. The rangers do not enforce quiet times after 10 pm. We had the bad luck of having a very loud group of neighbors (by the way they had two cars at their site which is against the campground rules and they were talking loudly till 1am in the morning when I had to get to their site and asked if they could be quieter). It is obvious that the rangers don't really check much around the campground... at least at night. Another problem was that we had a portable toilet (completely enclosed) and a small toilet tent for it (we have two small kids and that portable toilet is really good in these situations). When we came back from hiking we found a notice at our campsite that we cannot have a portable shower at our site (which we knew it is against the rules) The notice told me to go to talk to the rangers at the entrance station and so I went. When I explained that it is not a shower but a toilet a first ranger said that it is ok then but a second one started saying that portable toilets are not permitted too. I understand rules and everything but at least make it clearly written on the webpage or somewhere else so people (especially parents with small kids) can plan ahead and organize the campsite accordingly. The ranger was very strict and made me feel like we are "unwritten" rule-breakers... while at night everything goes... 3 stars for the confusion about what is allowed and the lack of quiet time enforcement.

Great experience for our family. The campsite was exactly as described. The closest bathroom was OOO which meant the walk to facilities was just a bit farther. Can't wait to come back

Bathrooms were clean, check in/out was easy, overall a pleasant experience and great basecamp for exploring Acadia.
