Campground was nice. Campsites were very close to eachother which I didnt enjoy it felt like we had to whisper so everyone wouldnt hear our conversations. There was also no hot/warm water in the bathrooms the water was freezing cold. Besides this the campground was great.

Nice wooden campground, near from everything in and around Acadia National Park. Only downside is no shower on the campground!

We have camped at Blackwoods for about 5 or 6 times and, unfortunately, this last visit was probably our worst visit ever. We stayed for 3 nights during Columbus Day weekend. "Quiet Time" hours were ignored by many campsites and was not enforced by rangers and the closest bathroom to our site was closed (on a holiday weekend, no less). The only reason why I didn't give this a "poor" rating was because of it's proximity to some of the hiking trails and easy access to the Loop Road.
However, other bathrooms at the campground were updated & relatively clean. Good price value for a tent site. Nice that there is a private & clean shower facility nearby as you exit the campground.

Hiking: Can't go wrong with hiking at Acadia. Many types of hiking to choose from: from easy trails around lakes, along the shoreline or on some of the carriage roads to some of the most rugged and adventurous hikes like the Precipice Trail, Beehive Trail and Acadia Mountain Trail. Incredible views at many locations.

beautiful camp site, nicely spaced from neighbors, well maintained restrooms, friendly and helpful rangers

The campground was nice and while the sites were close, they felt comfortable and not too close. One thing to note is that while there are nice bathrooms, only hand sanitizer is provided not hand soap, and there are no showers provided anywhere in the campground or park. Aside from that, a really nice campground.
