We were in site A49. A pull thru site, normally a good idea. The fire pit was on the wrong side which forced us to pull in from the wrong side and made us too close to the next site. The staff said pull in from either side which isnt really true.

The space was overcrowded, lots of trash on our site. Also the fire rings and picnic tables were so close to our neighbors that it was uncomfortable to have a fire or eat outside!

Campground itself was beautiful. I will say just be sure you are okay and prepared to not have any electricity overnight. The temperature wasnt bad our two nights but with all the trees, there was almost no air circulation in our RV even with the windows (and eventually door open). The darkness was pretty amazing and the quiet was unbelievably cool, and we knew ahead of time the stipulations, but this stay caused us to change our last night to a hotel because we couldnt handle the long, stuffy nights anymore so I just want people to be aware. Showers were close by: $3 for 4 minutes. We did love the closer proximity to things- we enjoyed the Bubble Rock trail (significantly easier coming from its parking lot compared to coming off the Jordan Pond trail). Best time to see Thunder Hole is 2 hours before high tide. Overall enjoyed ourselves in Acadia but would be cautious staying at Blackwoods again.
Good

Campsite was good. A few bigger rocks but were able to work around. Location was good. Close to trail to shore. Campground was quiet and people were friendly. Restrooms cleaned often

Site was awesome with trees enveloping our RV. Rangers were friendly and helpful. Short trail to the ocean. Acadia National Park is fantastic:
Hike the Cadillac South Ridge Trail to the summit, fantastic views. A fairly strenuous 7+ mile up & back hike with a steady 1,350 ascent, complicated by numerous roots and rocks.
Bike the Jordan Pond carriage roads and enjoy the popovers at the Jordan Pond House restaurant.
Drive the Park Loop Road and visit Sand Beach, Thunder Hole and the Otter Point Ocean Path.
Kayak Eagle Lake for a relaxing day on the water.
Visit Bar Harbor and stroll the streets. Walk to Bar Island via the path at low tide.
Star gaze from Otter Point.
Relax by a campfire while cooking hotdogs on a stick.
Note: Verizon coverage with cell booster using Yagi directional antenna pointed toward cell tower.

A very peaceful place to enjoy the beauty of nature for those who are self-sufficient.
