I have camped in Blackwoods more than a dozen times, and each year I can't wait to get back. It just doesn't get any better than to enjoy Acadia by day and stay in the park at night. Some sites are better than others, so if you're a first-timer, good luck. And yes, the showers are a short bike ride away - no big deal. I've noticed a trend away from camp cooking toward hitting restaurants in town. Just my opinion - you're missing a lot of fun. The short walk to the ocean is a must-do, maybe to start each day as well as end it. So bring your bike, kayak, fishing gear, and hiking gear. If you fish the fresh water, bend your barbs and leave the fish behind. If you fish the salt, catch a few mackerel and grill them up for lunch.
