The campsite was good. Level within reason and decent size. The adjacent sites were quite close but it was not a problem because no one was noisy. Not many kids there at the time we camped. Very open sites with minimal privacy.

We spent a long weekend here with friends. Our friends were all in tents and camper vans a few rows up. Because we have a travel trailer it seemed to complicate things. First, we werent able to get the same site for all 3 nights. Which wouldnt have been a problem if they hadn't given us such a hard time about moving right into our next site. After check out at 10am and no overflow to park in due to extra cars and picnic tables not in use. We were told to go park on route 3 until check in at noon. The only benefit to this campground was the accessibility to the park and a nice viewing area along the park loop. We personally will not be back to this campground. Hopefully back to Acadia some day. Just be prepared for how overcrowded and expensive it is.

Nice clean bathroom facility. Loved hearing the ocean waves off in the distance. Would benefit greatly from an on-site outdoor shower facility.

It was raining or cloudy most of the time we were there and the campground is very wooded. Not complaining about that! With lithium batteries and reasonable generator hours, we were good. The Island Explorer bus gets you (and your bike, if you want) to the good hiking and tourist spots on the island. Theres also a nice ocean overlook within easy walking distance from the campground itself. Five to ten minutes tops.

We stayed at site A069, it was conveniently located next to two restrooms, the path to the amphitheater for Ranger Programs, as well as the Ocean Path which begins near the restrooms behind site A068. The Rangers stationed there, as well as the Rangers giving the programs, were all amazing, particularly Ranger Kirk! It's worth a walk to the amphitheater or to the ocean following the Ocean path at night to view the night sky if it's a clear night. Incredibly dark with amazing views. Just if you go to the ocean view at the end of the Ocean path, do not go beyond the bench as it's a pretty steep drop to the rocks below. Sand Beach also offers amazing night sky viewing, but would require driving there. The site itself was spacious and was a pull through. It did have a very noticeable uphill slope, but we were able to level our 20 ft trailer just fine on it. Larger trailers and RV's may have a more difficult time leveling on this site. The area allows for generators in the AM and PM, but they were not too much of a nuisance. The restrooms were incredibly clean, and there is a potable water station as well as a location to dump dirty dish water near the restrooms. There is a place for showers just outside the campground entrance, as well as various roadside places for firewood along rt 3. The shower place sells ice, as well as the Otter Market down the road, but the bags are rather small for the price. Other than that, we would definitely camp here again!
