My boyfriend, my pup and I had a wonderful stay at blackwoods campground. We return every summer. It has nice amenities and is close to downtown Bar Harbor. We enjoy the walk to the ocean cliffs from the campground and the hike up Cadillac mountain from the campground on South Ridge Trail.

This campsite was wonderful to stay at. It's conveniently close to the ocean if you wanted to wake up early and watch the sunrise. The campsites was quiet and spacious. I thought there was enough room between each campsite. Our only struggle was that it was kind of hard to find the bathroom especially since we arrived at night.

Ive camped at over 20 national parks and traveled the country, and Acadia is one of my favorite. Ocean path to the cliffs to watch sunrise everyday was amazing. So close to Bar Harbor and everything Acadia has to offer. We went the end of July but returned for the last week the campground was open in October to see the foliage. Blackwoods will definitely be an annual trip. Cant wait to go back.

Site was nice, dumpsters water pump and washrooms all within walking distance and ranger staff were very helpful when i had questions. Theres an overlook a short hike away thats perfect for stargazing and watching the sunrise. Camp sites were a little too close together imo, but that was only thing i didnt like..
