Ranger at the campground entrance was not super friendly. Thought she was going to bite our heads off because we didn’t know our exact site number (FYI it’s not on the reservation in the NPS app, but she also had it on a piece of paper in front of her). We also thought we couldn’t bring it own firewood, so asking her where we could get some in the park did not go over well. After about 24 hours of travel to get to Zion, that was not the warm welcome we were hoping for. Bathrooms are not great but at least the toilets flush. Bottom line- the surroundings made putting up with the campground worth it, but don’t think I’d go back.

Setting is breathtaking!! Close to everything relevant in the area! RVs*: Generators in RVs are limited to 2 hrs in morning & 2 hrs in evenings. Be mindful of weather if it is a concern of yours. We will stay there again!

Beautiful spot, central to everything at the park & walking distance to the shuttle.

The campground it's self is nice. There was plenty of shade at the two sites we had. The site boundaries are not very well defined and it isn't clear if there is a certain place you should put your tent or not. We had a group of about 8 drunks near our site on the first night that were up until 4:30 am. About 2am after at least three people asked them to be quite I drove to one of the lodges because I couldn't get a signal in camp. I talked to the lady at the front desk who gave me the phone and told me to ask the operator to connect me to MPS. I reported the incident and they said they would send someone out. They never did. Other than that a nice campground with clean bathrooms. The drunk group was awakened early in the morning rather suddenly.

As someone who paid and drove 1500 miles to get to Zion I should have been able to get a damn pass to a shuttle so that I can hike. I was unable to hike thanks to the system that was put in place and not mentioned very well at all on rec.gov or NPS website. I wish I never spent the time and money to go to Zion as I could have camped out anywhere. It’s the hikes I wanted to take but was unable again because of the ticket system that sells out instantly. CAMPERS IN THE PARK SHOULD ALWAYS HAVE ACCESS TO THE TRAILS IN THE PARK.

The campsites are spacious with many trees for hanging your hammock. There are two hiking trails and the visitor center and bus stop are within walking distance. But beware that this year you must have shuttle tickets to go up Zion Canyon.
