There for the night. Weather was perfect. Could also hear the wind blow and the river run.

Difficult rating to give. Stay was at end of a trip and Zion was by far the hottest location (which is to be expected given the relatively low elevation in SW Utah desert). South Campground is partially closed for some work. Many of local trees are either dead or have lots of dead parts, so there goes the shade and the wind break. We did get some shade late afternoon. Camping in summer in the desert is not ideal. On the other hand, we enjoyed the Narrows hike and saw the area. Having views of the Watchman and the Sentinel is pretty cool. Deer wandering through the campsites give the place character. Lots to see in Zion and the various sites are impressive in their own right. The shuttle system works pretty well and keeps traffic out of the parking lots at the various stops. Closing door on the restroom was tricky (you had to push frame wider), but there were enough stalls for the volume of use. I've been other places where you have to wait in line first thing in the morning. Other guests were quiet and noise was not an issue. I know other reviews have complained about camp hosts, but we found them friendly.

Great location with excellent views. Love camping in Zion. Our particular site had no shade in spite of the many trees and the look of lots of shade in the pictures, the trees at our site were all dead and the site was rather hot during the day.

Great campground close to everything needed! I am glad it goes on a first come first serve basis 2 weeks prior to one's visit. Beautiful views also. We unfortunately could not have a fire, which was okay because no one would want a fire like the one we drove past when returning to Arizona after our stay.

Campground was great. Easy cell reception, it's a short walk from the visitor center and the shuttle, and the campground itself was beautiful and all my neighbors during my stay were quite considerate. The bathrooms were also pretty clean and it was always easy to fill up water. I'll definitely book this campsite again if I plan to return to Zion. Great spot!

took a month to get this reservation but so worth it. We had a beautiful site with stunning morning and evening orange glow on the surrounding mountain peaks. The campground was very quiet (COVID distancing between sites so the campground was very empty looking/feeling) and the campground host and hostess were extremely helpful. Make SURE you have a reservation for the shuttle before you come so you can go to the premier hiking trails. We had a great experience at this campground and would highly recommend it.
