Perfect location, with the Visitor Center and Shuttle Stop at walking distance. Great scenic campground, with the river nearby and the cliffs in the background. However, no shower and no proper place to wash dishes. The closest showers are in Springdale and cost $4,00.

The spot was great and very convenient for the park. I had an issue however with the ground. It was nearly impossible to drive tent stakes into the ground. I don't know if it was because eof a high amount of rocks or that the ground has been packed hard over the years.

Clean campground and all the necessary facilities. Furthermore, there is a ranger available for all your questions. Location is great, close to Springdale and close to the shuttle bus.

Glad to have been in the park. Made getting around much easier.

It was a nice little campground. It would have been better if we had been in the same spot 2 nights in a row, but that was on us. Parking a truck and small trailer in overflow parking during both days was tough, due to limited oversized parking after the June/July floods, but in the end it worked out. We hiked the narrows early one day, before rain late in the day. And we did a short horseback ride before headed out of the park.

We love Zion, even when it's hot. Hike early and then take a chair down by the river to sit in the shade and relax in the heat of the day. Ride the shuttle later in the day to enjoy the Canyon.

There is no phone access in the park so you are not able to reserve the next days shuttle. Which means getting up the valley for morning hiking is impossible. Very disappointing.

Quiet, clean and easily accessible

Everything was rather clean. The downside to this campground is that the sites might be too close together and there is no privacy, well at least in the part that I stayed at. I went in summer and there was a small fire that happened next to the river but the firefighters came immediately and put it out. If given the chance between the Watchman Campground and the South Campground go with Watchman. They have better restrooms and the sites are very well marked, it also provides more shade.

Camping within Zion National Park was the best decision we could have possibly made for our stay. The park can get really crowded and parking can be a nightmare, so having a guaranteed place to park and sleep - and to be able to just wake up and take the shuttle to a trailhead? - best idea ever. Just remember to bring firewood!
