Nice campground. However there was a homeless person setting up a tent at a spot near mine, when others came to take the space, this person asked to move into space on my camp. When I refused, this person went from camp to camp (moving when people showed up). In all this time, I never saw the host anywhere but lounging in their space.

Can easily walk to visitor center and outfitters (that has showers) so you don't have to exit and re-enter the park. Half the campground is closed. Lots of dead trees marked for removal.

We camped 2nights here, and really enjoyed it! It's more rugged compared to the Watchman,, but does have easy access to flushing toilets, water spigot and outside sink. The bath room was very clean. There were more tent campers here, and it was quieter. Even in the morning, due to it being across the river from the visitor center, it's not affected as much by the early car arrivals from eager park visitors during this crazy season for all national parks. It's booked full every night. But we noted that two sites close to us were empty on our second night there. I wish people would have canceled and released the sites to others. It's a treat to be able to stay inside the park. There is overflow parking on site by the campground entrance to the left, so if you planned more activities in the park after packing up, you could park your car there. I highly recommend doing it early still though, as when the visitor center's lot is full, some day visitors would pull in the lot and take up all the spots.

The campsites are too small and close together. Our site had no shade.

Beauty surrounds! I spent 3 nights here in a travel trailer and spent a little time wandering the park. It truly amazes me the change in scene with different lighting throughout the day! Facilities for dumping were great! Water was treated. Site was fairly level but not the easiest to get into because of one way access lanes. Security was present. Campers were respectful of the rules. Early morning winds were a welcome relief from the heat but they kicked up a fair amount of dust. The area is VERY dry of course. MAKE SURE YOUR FIRE IS OUT when you are done!

Vegetated areas were close to the camp sites and the park service is doing their best to retain natural areas between and around the campground. The dust could be better if campers were to steward those natural areas and make sure their trash goes to proper disposal (trash was not bad AT ALL but small things that blow around.)

I know it has much to do with security, but it would be GREAT if there were less lights. The night sky is amazing but hard to see due to light pollution.

I had a great stay at the south campground. I stayed for several nights, and it was great to have easy walking access to the visitor center and shuttle every day. The campsites can get quite warm during the day, but walking along the river through the campground was a good way to cool down. The bathrooms were clean, the cell service was great, and the overall experience was awesome.

Just one of those campgrounds that has had so many people come through it that it is trampled, rundown, and in need of upgrade. The bathrooms were outdated with no place for doing dishes. The location is excellent but there are a lot of improvements that could be made particularly since there are so many people who enjoy Zion.

Camping what’s that? You won’t be getting much of that experience here! While the camp sites have pretty good distance from each other you feel like you’re on a college campus during fraternity rush week no peacefulness of the great outdoors at all. Yea, yea I sound like an old man... I’m on a 90 day motorcycle tour hitting 11 states 18 national parks 12 national monuments and 28 cities/towns sleep is important for my safety. Also when I camp I plan to camp not be surrounded by restaurants and shopping it’s like an outlet mall on a college campus. To top it off the water ways were contaminated with neurological damaging parasites so good luck with that.

Beautiful treed site with views of the mountains everywhere you look. The sites and restrooms are incredibly well maintained. Would stay here again in a heartbeat!
