God blessed us with a last-minute reservation and we stayed in site 505 for a night in our Sprinter Van.The sites are mostly small (compared to other sites we've stayed at in California parks). The fire pit for #503 was pretty much less than 10 feet away from the back of our van. What our site lacked in size, it made up for by being across from sites 502, 504, and 506 (these sites are HUGE!), and the kids were able to get down to the river and play in the water and in the riverbanks. There were also great cliffs that you could see across from the Merced river and if you look back from site 505 toward sites 400-403.We got good neighbors and everyone mostly goes to sleep by 10pm, as there is only fire burning from 5-10pm. There are many rules in the park (generator usage, fire pit usage time, no water spigots, only have to wash dishes by the bathroom, bear boxes, etc), but I understand why they are in place. Since Yosemite gets SO many visitors each year, it would turn into a dumpster if it didn't have those rules. Just be prepared for them and you'll have a good time :)Bathrooms are ok, but didn't have any soap. Also, the sink where you wash dishes has a poor faucet, and the water gets splashed on your feet. Site 505 is an "RV site", but when I called, they said that you CAN put a tent there if it will fit besides the van. Just make it a small-ish tent. I'm not sure if you can pitch the tent tarp in the soil/ground though. The site is level.Overall, we would go back!

Awesome experience staying at the park. Nothing beats the morning and evening time in Yosemite. We even saw bears and deer. Hiking and waterfalls are out of the world. The camp hosts are very friendly. Reservations are difficult but campsitetext.com gets us impossible to find campsites. It watches for cancelation and sends a text.

My husband and I had the most wonderful vacation to Yosemite just a couple weeks ago. Our stay in North Pines was so relaxing and fun. We swam in the river and hiked in the valley, both of which were phenomenal activities we'd recommend. We miss it already and hope to be back soon!
