Every day was beautiful at North Pines Campground. There are trails heading off in all directions and a shuttle stop nearby. Walk a short distance for great views of Half Dome, Glacier Point, the Merced River and Tenaya Cree, and Yosemite Falls. We hiked over 10 miles every day!

This was my first time tent camping, and I couldnt have imagined a more perfect place to do it than Yosemite. My wife and I had driven through the park during winter before, but experiencing the beauty of the Valley up close in summer was something else entirely. We felt incredibly fortunate to secure a reservation at North Pines, knowing how coveted these spots are by people from around the world. We had been eagerly anticipating this trip for months, and it exceeded all our expectations. We brought our Golden Retriever and, while we mostly stuck to the loop trail this time, we still had an unforgettable experience. The campground was impeccably maintained, and our fellow campers were respectful of the rules, regulations, and quiet hours. It was refreshing to see how well the honor system worked here. The bathrooms were clean and regularly maintained, which added to the overall comfort of our stay. Our campsite was just steps away from the serene Tenaya Creek, surrounded by the breathtaking beauty that Yosemite is famous for. The staff was exceptionally friendly, professional, and knowledgeable, clearly taking immense pride in their work.My only wish was that the K9 Kennel wasn't closed so early for the rest of the season, so that we could've boarded the pup for a few hours to explore more of the hiking trails. After this experience, I cant help but wonder why it took us so long to camp here. For just $30 a night, I dont see why Id ever vacation anywhere else. I cant wait to return and stay even longer next time!

I was awoken at 6:30 am by 2 young campers who were moving into my camp. They claimed to be the ones who reserved the site that evening and came early. It was an awkward situation. They had all their gear and were on bikes so I let them move in and I loaded up and moved my car to a parking spot near curry.

Beautiful location! Any campsite at Yosemite is great IMHO. Great view of Half dome.Almost level park spot and room for a small4-6 person tent. Fire pit.Other campers respectful of quiet time when we were there. Friendly and hard working volunteer camp host, check in person and rangers and other staff. Definitely suggest bringing a bathroom kit- (theres no soap or instant hand cleaner provided, or paper towels, or toilet seat covers) I bring a natural version of Lysol type disinfectant wipes to wipe out sink-lots of campers using 2 sinks- ugh! definitely want to clean before using and after myself, my own small trash bag w/, loop to hang ,soap , etc) Sure wish reservation system could figure out how multiple days could stay in one spot. Waiting until noon to move is a hassle. Parking very limited and FULL early in busy season. Plan on using bikes or bus to get around.Tip: Join Yosemite Conservancy for savings at many of the stores, the Ansel Adams Gallery and much more.
