Our check-in was quick and easy. The campground was in good condition. Bathrooms were clean (as well as can be expected), and neighbors were relatively courteous of quiet hours. You just can't beat staying in the valley when visiting Yosemite. We also loved having the Merced River right next to us for quick dips, even though the water was still cold! We ended up leaving a day early and were surprised to see we were refunded for the extra day. Shout-out to the rangers and anyone who works in the park, we must continue to support them in the face of increasing hostility from those in power.

Great location. Nice view of Washington Column and arched formations on the rock wall. Some shade most of the day until early to mid afternoon. A walk to the northward bathroom yields a great view of Half Dome, to the eastward bathroom and you are right across from an entry area on the Merced. No access to river directly across from campsite - need to walk about 100 feet for access. Originally wanted a site closer to the river, but this ended up being a spot Id come back to due to it being on a corner and having a good amount of space between it and other sites. Slight slope across most of the site, only truly flat spot was right near the road, we pitched tent near a tree behind the parking spot to keep it in shade most of the day.

513 was wonderful. River across the road however no access from across the road. River access is less than 5 minute walk away. Plenty of shade and a big area perfect for our family of 5. I would only want to come back to this campground next time we stay again in Yosemite village

Campsites were kind of close together but the neighbors were nice and quiet. Nice to be close to the Merced River. Views of Half Dome and Yosemite Falls as you walk around.

We chose not to bring our inflatable kayaks thinking the water was too high. Not the case! Definitely plan to get in the water and bring that floaty! Plant your chair in the water and enjoy that refreshing cold water and gorgeous views. There were people floating down the river having a grand ole time. Also, bringing your own bike is an absolute game changer! Its mostly flat. Its so lovely to ride your bike through with a breeze on your face and seeing either Yosemite falls one direction or Half Dome going the other. Unreal! Having a basket helps too. We were lucky enough to score Half Dome cable route permits. We started at 2:30am to avoid going up in the heat. GREAT decision! It adds almost a full mile if you walk from North Pines. If you do that hike, get in the water or get your shirt wet in the river on the way back down. Our accent was 8/29/23.Now I need to end this review to look for more cancellations in North Pines this winter.
