Amazing camping location. Well maintained campsite. Plenty of room between neighbors. 2 big problems 1) the tent pads will fit a 8x8 tent only. They have 2x4s lining the 8x8 square. 2) the train goes right passed the site blowing its horn multiple times in the middle of the night.

I Love it here. Right beside the River fed from Glacier melt, so even in the very hot days of summer, the swimming area has very cool water to chill in. Although it is a DRY campground, if you bring your own water and stove, it can be quite cozy. Three unfortunates about the campground. Because it is in the heart of the forest when fire restrictions are in place, you cannot have any open fires in your campsite. Also, the campground is just off of Highway 58, so there is a fair amount of vehicle noise. Plus, just the other side of the river there is a major East/West train track. Trains go rumbling uphill and downhill at all hours of the day and night. Personally I love the train sounds. There is crossing nearby, so there is no blaring of their horns.

It would be nice if we could reserve a spot by the river. This spot was too open and uneven.

There's a good amount of vegetation between campsites which provides decent privacy. It is just off the highway, so some campsites would be too noisy for me but there are many where it's not at a bothersome level. There's also train tracks just across the river, so there were at least 3-4 trains a day going past, but I found that a minor inconvenience overall. A boat ramp within the campground gives easy access to the river, and it's slow enough at that point to be able to wade out at least to hip height. It's only about 8 miles or so to the small town of Oakridge if supplies or non camp food is desired. Each campsite has a picnic table and fire ring, and several have tent pad areas. I saw some small RVs/campers but normal size ones would likely not be able to navigate the campground or fit in spots. There are sites next to the river (but not necessarily direct access from them) so that you can both see and hear the water. There are frequent potable water stations. The bathrooms are pit toilets, but these were among the cleanest I had seen.

We love this campground due it proximity to the river and the feeling of privacy due to the bushes and trees for each campsite. It is easily accessible from highway 58 and very close to Oakridge for quick trips for forgotten items.
