Our camp host, Connie, was the best weve had in 5 yrs. She kept the sites clean, the toilet was the cleanest its been, and she was so friendly and accommodating.

This has been my favorite area to camp for the past 7-8 years. Upon arrival I was informed there was a locked gate across the boat ramp this year and that there was no longer access to get to the reservoir. I drove around the next day trying to find water access and it has all been blocked off. Unless you can rock climb up and down a steep hillside or cliff. If you're not going to get into the water it's still a good stay and the camp host this year is fantastic. Yes, the website boasts water recreation and boating but there is definitely not boat access. Even the kayakers, paddleboarders, and fishermen/women were packing up leaving same day and next day after arriving and finding the same issue. So sad what they have done to this beautiful recreation area.

Nice stay in the campground! Pit toilets very respectable in early June. Beautiful area. Would stay again.

Love the location and accommodations at this site.

The reservoir is a beautiful spot. We enjoyed many hours on the water swimming, paddle boarding and jumping from the cliffs. Unfortunately, there is no shade along the shore, so I would recommend a canopy to provide a break from the hot sun. The camp site was surprisingly small, barely space for a tent next to the picnic table. Another disappointment was the access to drinking water. There is only one place to get drinking water in the campground. It is quite a distance from any of the camp sites and not accessible by vehicles, so you need to carry all of the water you need. I would recommend bringing your own water.

Nice, simple campsite in a pretty area. Was pretty empty at the beginning of June when we were there. Simple outhouses and nice fire pit and good site to pitch a tent.

It was a great time and clean campground.

The pictures you see are old.Campground is located in the area of the forest fires about 2 yrs ago. Very dust and tons of biting flies and mosquitoes. The reservoir is surrounded by rocks,dirt, tree stumps & dead trees. Hiking close by, but you have you drive. Camp host is no help..Found a great place to hangout on the river away from the campground. It is where I spent most of my time.

Camped here and did Tamolitch Falls, Koosah and Sahalie Falls, Terwilliger Hot Springs, and rented a boat on Clear Lake. Beautiful scenery.

Campsite was pretty and close to the Cougar Reservoir. There were some pretty loud people close to us, and unfortunately no firewood available despite being able to have them in established campgrounds.

For people saying the campground is hard to find, it’s really not. I highly recommend downloading the Avenza app and finding maps for the district you’ll be in, you can’t get lost even with no service.

The location was beautiful. The site was a little difficult to find but honestly I think I liked that better. I wish there was better water access and the bug(mosquitoes) were horrible. Even with our bug repellent we were eaten alive. Still super itchy a week later. It was nice being so close to terwilliger hot springs.

Beautiful scenery, we played in the water, enjoyed a morning fire, relaxed during our lovely stay at Slide Creek

a beautiful private campsite would 10/10 recommend

My friends got a little lost getting there, but we found it alright in the end. People tend to drive fast on the gravel road, so there is a LOT of dust kicked up and and be kinda cloudy. The spot we had next to the bathroom didn't smell! The water access is great, stargazing was amazing. Don't come here.

The camp sight had ants all over the place you couldn’t put your tent down. I read reviews they said use campsite 12 I did that it wasn’t great at all and the campsites are very small here right next-door basically to the Manager site the table is full of ants so you can’t eat at the table I’m not sure where are you put a boat in I’ve never slept so horrible in my entire life camping out of the 40 years that I’ve been camping one of the campers where are you don’t have to pay for camping by the lake party their music until four in the morning. you can’t get ice anywhere at the stores they paved the roads while we were there and we got the black tar all over our nice you know $70,000 truck. Advice special stuff at Walmart to get it off took us two days to get the Tar off. The mosquitoes couldn’t been any worse their firewood is seven dollars versus five down at the store.
I can’t really say that I enjoyed myself at this campsite I remember as a little girl how much I love this place it’s not the same the first day we got there they coned off the dock so you couldn’t drive your car down there.
There’s nowhere to shower not only that the bathrooms are so disgusting that it’s like a fly city inside the bathroom I’m telling you it was the worst bathroom and camping history!

Great location, lots of space for multiple tents, easy access to the road and restroom.
@ErikS9024367 · Camped on Jun 18, 2022 at Campsite #12
Site 12 is the best in the campground. Plenty of room for multiple tents. It's not too close to other sites but not far from the day use area. The last mile of road from Cougar Crossing is very potholed.

Great campsite and very well maintained. The park host was super friendly.
@HeidiD242 · Camped on Aug 26, 2021 at Campsite #11
It’s actually a beautiful location. The main problem is that there are clear signs telling you how to get there and the road is closed. Before you reserve it should tell you that you have to take a massive detour on a dirt road. Signs to the campground should be modified as the route is the opposite direction. The email told how to get there but was NOT clear and I ended up driving out to find people to ask if they knew an alternative route
@NicoleJ862 · Camped on Jul 15, 2021 at Campsite #4
The camp host was non existent. He spent a majority of time with another campsite that used a chainsaw through the weekend. The restrooms were not cleaned regularly and doors did not close/lock.
@JanelleH812 · Camped on Aug 21, 2020 at Campsite #2
Great location, and the campground was as expected. The sites are on the small side and not particularly private. We camped over a weekend and there were some larger, louder groups partying into the late evening, but I'm sure during the weeknights it is much more peaceful. The reservoir is beautiful and was great swimming. Would camp here again.
@AmandaP541 · Camped on Aug 2, 2020 at Campsite #11
The campsite (11) was a bit smaller than expected but we were still able to fit a medium and a small tent there. Had the campsite next to us (8) been in use while we were there, we wouldn't have had much privacy but luckily didn't have to deal with that. The reservoir is a short walk away with some nice views and small areas to swim if you don't have a boat/kayak/etc.. Drinking water was a farther walk than expected. Overall we really liked this location and how quiet it was and being able to disconnect from everything. Highly recommend stargazing on the boat launch at night.
@AmyH812 · Camped on Jul 31, 2020 at Campsite #8
Close to swimming spot at boat launch, nice shade. Campsites are small and not much privacy. Close proximity to nice trails such as Rebel Creek nd French Pete Creek.

@ChazInSoCal - CA

I just used PerfectCamp.com to book six consecutive August nights at the most popular campsite in one of the most popular campgrounds in Humboldt Redwoods State Park in California. That is not anything I could have accomplished anywhere else with the ease I did here! Thank you, PerfectCamp! I LOVE this site! You will find me on several other camping sites but the design, format, functionality, and personality of this the best. It’s fresh and clean.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
