Great little campground right off hwy 22! Tremendous variety in sites: some are large and private with good river access, while others are small and located near the road. Do your research when making a reservation! If you reserve early some sites are real gems. Running water available. Latrine toilets were stinky but clean. Bugs can be an issue, so bring firewood!

We were in #1 with our 20ft trailer. It's a very level site with nice shade during the hot summer days. Riverside is a good location to explore some hiking options other than the Jefferson wilderness area that requires special permits. The hikes around Tombstone Pass on Hwy 20 were great in mid July with many wildflowers and vista views. You do get some road noise at Riverside but it was not too bad at our site during the week, probably noisier on weekends.

My favorite thing about this spot is how private it is, tucked away at the end of the loop. From the road you cannot see into the site. Good access to the water spicket but no river access. Our stay was good and we really enjoyed the size and privacy of the spot itself. We did not see a camp host while we were here. The road noise is LOUD! This spot is close to the road and I did find myself shouting to my spouse to be heard over the loud trucks going by. That was my biggest complaint while staying here. Other sites closer to the water would drown out the noise better. During our stay there was plenty of FCFS spots that werent taken.

This site is pretty wide and fairly deep. Driving through the campground there are many that are very shallow. I have a full size truck with a roof top tent that folds out over the side, and I had no issues backing in or setting up in the spot. There are no neighbors on the left side. The biggest downfall of this spot is the road noise. The road is directly behind this spot so there's *HEAVY* noise. Can be hard to maintain a conversation, and it can keep you up at night.

If youre looking to get away from it all and be right on the river in Oregon. This place was amazing. To the starry clear nights and the sound of the river at night. To the peaceful mornings. Definitely would return. Note if youre gonna be driving Detroit is the closest for gas besides the 45 minute drive to sisters. Highly recommend!

So-so spot. I loved being close enough to hear the water. It is very steep so no water access. It was not the most private spot, we could see our neighbors on both sides. The road noise is LOUD! I have stayed at other spots in the campground and it is definitely worse in other spots, but the noise was still noticeable. Overall this is a quiet campground and within driving distance of some awesome swimming spots.

Pavment could use an overhual but a nice campground. We went to Koosah and sahalie falls and that was a fun short hike.

Stayed for 3 nights over Memorial Day Weekend. About of the sites back up to the river, and the other half back up to the road. Our site (Site No. 1) was one of the sites that back up to the road, and we didn't find this to be an issue. You couldn't see the road or cars from the site with the tree cover, and at night the traffic noise largely died down and is obscured by the sound of the river (there doesn't seem to be significant truck traffic using the road during the evening). Very easy to get to the CG: it's right off the highway and unlike some of the sites in the area, it has the advantage of not requiring campers to drive on forest service/fire roads that can sometimes be in tough condition.Bathroom was clean, all of the sites have picnic table and fire ring, and are quite large (can accommodate multiple tents, a cooking area, etc.).

This campground is magical. We stayed on a holiday weekend and the park was not even close to full. It was completely blissful falling asleep to the sounds of the river. Our campsite was a little tricky with a pop-up trailer, but we made it work. Right on the water so no other noise was heard. The bathrooms were clean and sanitary and the park was as well. There is lots to do nearby, so we had a great time all around. Can't wait to come back next year!

This is such a peaceful campground! The sound of the river was very relaxing and calming. We were lucky no kids were around when my wife & I stayed for a night on our way to Crater Lake.

There are some great riverside campsites here, some with excellent space, privacy, and river access. Others are smaller, less scenic, and very close to the road. Worth your money to plan ahead and reserve a primo site if possible! Four stars because restrooms were pretty dirty when I was there.

The site was by the river and was adequate for the two of us. We camped there so that we could get up early and drive to the Marion Lake Trailhead in order to hike up to Marion Lake. This campground was only ten minutes from the trailhead.The only negative aspect was that we had to park fairly close to our neighboring camper and they slept in their camper so we may have disturbed them as we left so early.The campground is a lovely place and the restroom was clean and the water faucet fairly close. We used this site last year and recommend it.

Really nice campground with a very relaxed and family-friendly atmosphere. We had a family reunion campout, and this was a great place for us all to get together. Fun playing in the river.

Amazing stay at Riverside, will be returning. Running water, restrooms and close proximity to several swimming areas including Detroit lake.

1. The park host up charged us for extra parking. Website says $8 per night and he charged $10 per night. I asked him to honor the site and he said no, he isn’t making a fuss over $2. There is inflation as he called it.
2. Only two spots 22 and 23 have river access. There isn’t a trail to get to the water unless you walk through those camps.
@JulietteL86F68 · Camped on May 26, 2023 at Campsite #15
HUGE campsites. Some sites are open to their neighbors while others have more coverage. We had both 14 and 15, that were open to each other which made it great for a larger group camping together.

@ChazInSoCal - CA

I just used PerfectCamp.com to book six consecutive August nights at the most popular campsite in one of the most popular campgrounds in Humboldt Redwoods State Park in California. That is not anything I could have accomplished anywhere else with the ease I did here! Thank you, PerfectCamp! I LOVE this site! You will find me on several other camping sites but the design, format, functionality, and personality of this the best. It’s fresh and clean.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
