We worried about how the fires from a couple of years ago had affected the campground and it didn't appear that the fire had crossed through. We went up there to go fishing however, we were disappointed that there wasn't any safe river access because the fire did knock a lot of debris down the cliffs and the trails had not been rebuilt. We walked about a mile west towards Detroit on the Breitenbush trail and at the mile marker we had to turn back because the fire debris had not been cleared. We tried to get to the river during our hike but there was too much fire debris and downed trees. Someday, we understand that in future years, park officials may get the river access cleared. If you do not care about fishing, the sites are large and private and in mid September, the campground was quiet. We had it all to ourselves.

The spot was great. The only complaint is that I couldn't leave my dog off the leash. Other than that everything was awesome!
