Close proximity to the maroon bells. Daytime noise from the bus passing along the road, but the bubbling river was a great sound machine to sleep to at night. Clean toilets and a good spot for a tent and vampire/table

Rangers are very friendly and helpful, and the campsite is beautiful! No firewood is sold in the area so (if there isn't a fire ban) make sure to stock up in town

Great stay at Silver Bell - close proximity to Maroon Bells with the added bonus of not needing to worry about reserving a shuttle spot or parking space! Campsite was close to a beautiful stream and we spent time exploring Aspen as well. Absolutely recommend

My family and I tent camped for 5 nights and loved it soo much! Lots of rain and wildlife...and also a bit of trash at our campsite upon arrival. We spent a little bit of time cleaning things up, but it wasn't too bad...just wish that the campsite was better maintained inbetween guests. Please be bear aware. We had a large black bear come within 30 feet of our campsite. It veered off and visited the campsite next to us, sniffing around the fire ring and table. Fortunately, the folks who were staying at that particular campsite were off somewhere else at the time of the bear's visit. I only give this campground four stars out of five because of the trash, small campsites, closeness to fellow campers and the lack of firewood for purchase near the campgrounds (we had to go into town and purchase our firewood from Aspen's City Market), BUT if I had to rate it in respect to nearby trails and views - FIVE STARS!!! I am a Colorado native and have thoroughly enjoyed the trails in my home state. The trails in the Maroon Bells Snowmass Wilderness are popular for a reason - because they are some of the most gorgeous, hands-down breath taking trails in CO. Post cards and prints don't do it a bit of justice. Great job done by the folks in charge of cleaning and sanitizing the bathrooms. Pretty clean considering.
