I have stayed here many times great location on the Kancamagus to Lincoln Woods Trail lot and town

When we arrived at the campground, our site was occupied (3 tents - nobody there) even with a reserved sign with my name on it. The campground hosts said they couldn't do anything until someone showed up. The campground was full. Campgrounds around were full. We waited from 4 to 9pm and noboody showed up so they can ask them to leave so we can have our site. The camp hosts were really nice altough they had limited possibilites. We finally spent the night at their site, having nowhere else to sleep with two young children. It was very frustrating because we were the ones getting punished but did nothing wrong. The campground hosts or rangers should have the power to remove people from reserved sites. And we never got a full refund for the fees we paid.

The campground itself was great but we (unknowingly) booked the site right next to the bathrooms (site 22) and it smelled really bad whenever the wind blew :(

Used this as a base for hiking Carrigain and the Osceolas
Avoid the Kancamagus on the big leaf peeping weekends (eg Columbus Day) - it was a solid parking lot and took us 45 minutes to get to Lincoln from the campsite when it normally takes 10 minutes!
