Normally I always give 5 stars. This was our 29th year camping as a group of 2 families, we always love it.The reason we were disappointed this year was the state of the water. Never has the water been so bad. It was yellowish green and smelled so strong of chlorine, not just a little, but just horrible. Actually I have never experienced such bad water. So for 5 days we had to buy plastic bottled water for drinking and cooking. Please don't say it was "oaky" to drink. It was disgusting.I hope you can fix it. It used to be wonderful! Thank you.

These are lovely, big, private sites. Lots of room to be distant from others. It feels like true camping. Midweek was quiet, though it was not empty. We enjoyed the hiking. Ripley falls and Elephant Head were great hikes; short, steep rough in places. The bathrooms were clean, but it seems weird to not have a sink to wash your hands, or sanitizer even. The sign says not to wash anything at the water spigots, but I rinsed my hands there.

We really enjoyed our stay at Sugarloaf 1. It is clean and very quiet. Water, bathrooms, and trash disposal are conveniently located throughout the campground. Easy walking distance to Sugarloaf trails and Zealand River. Very convenient to the Presidential Range. We look forward to going back! (No cell service, gas station and convenience store within 5 minute drive)
