Robert W Craig Campground in Mineral County is located 51 min southwest of Cumberland, MD with an elevation of 2,062 feet. There are a total of 69 campsites. The campground is normally open from the beginning of May to the end of September. 65 sites can accommodate RVs and trailers between 8 and 72 feet. All sites are currently reservable. Reservations can be booked up to 6 months in advance. 56 sites have electric hookups. Fees range from $22.00 to $60.00. Some amenities include shower, playground, amphitheater. Activities include boating, fishing, hiking trails, floating sports.

We always have a good time - sites arent close together you have plenty of room - they patrol the campground at all hours - gates are locked at 10 but you have the combination - you can go on line and make your reservation and see what site you want - they have very clean facilities - not afraid to let your kids out to play - everyone weve camped next to have been very friendly- its are number one pick we camp there 90 percent of the time.

I had a happy stay at the Robert W. Craig Campground. The grounds were clean and attractive. The hosts were helpful and courteous. It was a restful and quiet stay in the mountains of West Virginia.

Campground and facilities were well kept and clean. Gatehouse staff were friendly and very efficient. It was quiet. Camp store was not open - perhaps because it is late in season but we werent needing the store. Verizon signal was good.

The campground is lovely. The only problem were the dogs. Dogs barking a lot. I go camping for peace and quiet, there was little. I would like to see the parks not allowing dogs as in the past.

This is a beautiful campground nestled high atop mountains, away from the hustle bustle. It's a slice of heaven perfect for a few days of rest and rejuvenation. The campground is well maintained and the bathrooms were always clean and well stocked with paper towels and toilet paper. Park attendants Shawn and Brittani are wonderful, friendly and helpful. They made me feel very welcomed from the moment I arrived until the moment I left. Ranger Francesca is a wealth of knowledge about the history of the reservoir, dam, and park. The camp hosts at this park really do great job keeping up with everything. Site 32 is best for a small pull behind trailer or teardrop as it's unlevel except for the very end of the driveway. It' across from a restroom and a dumpster. Site 19 is shady, with a beautiful back yard and the driveway is mostly level, but it's under a walnut tree and the walnuts are very loud when they fall on the camper. Site 14 is a nice site, a mostly level driveway, but next to a dumpster. NOTE: DO NOT GO UP THE MOUNTAIN THROUGH MCCOOL. TOO STEEP, NARROW AND WINDING ROAD. TAKE HWY. 50 INSTEAD.

I've been there two or three times now and I love this place. Everything is well taken care of. I love the little store, the bike/hiking trails, playground for kids, and beautiful views. I can't wait to go back this summer. I just wish I lived a little closer, but it's still worth the drive.
