We love Goosepoint! Its well patrolled, feels safe with kids and grandkids. Its so natural, no commercialism is sweet! The maintenance people were right on things, after storms that knocked out power to some they were right there. The park rangers present often and the sites were all nice and good size, some much roomier than others. Philpott lake is a perfect example of people working together to keep things nice, keep an eye out for each other- the way it should be. You dont have to worry about locking everything and people taking things. Nice bathhouse with excellent water pressure.. Its such a wonderful lake for boating, skiing, pulling floats and pulling into a cove to swim, fish, read, relax. Most everyone is friendly and not a big party place. This is a great place for good children and pets, and people respect each other, understanding about barking dogs and fussy children, a very family atmosphere.

One of virginias hiden campground thats totally awesome , its our favorite always plenty of kids for the kids to play with enough privacy. You dont feel like youre stuck up under another camper. Restrooms and showers are usually always clean. Awesome beach.

Wonderfully kept campground. Nice and spacious sites. Beautiful setting. Unfortunately dogs overrule the campgrounds. Barking at all hours, and "guarding campsites".

This is my second reservation at Goose Point. The first was a great experience. But the second time was a horrible experience. The reason I was in the area is to hunt. Even though I'm aware that the check-in time is at 5pm, I took a chance and tried to check-in during lunch time. My first stay at Goose Point, one of the camp employee notified me by phone that I may check-in early so I figured to give it a try. When I arrived at the gate, a gentleman let me check-in early but told me that the site is still occupied and that the check out time is at 4PM. He told me that after 5pm I may return and occupy the site. So I went left and continue my hunt until 7pm. When I arrived at the site, an RV is still parked and some camping items are still layed out in the camp. I tried knocking on the RV door but no one is answering. After waiting for about 5 minutes, I decided to go to the gate and look for the camp employee. I stayed in the vicinity by the gate but no employee showed up. At around 8pm, I decided to go ahead and drive back home to Virginia Beach thinking the earlier I started driving, the sooner I can get rest. The next day, I contacted the help center to complain and request for a refund. This is a horrible experience. I was counting on having to rest that night but instead I ended up driving 5 hours to get home. I wished there was an employee that time to help me settle for the night.Reserved site is 33.
