We love camping at Goosepoint, especially site 29. We love the larger more private sites, site 29 has a beautiful view of the lake, and an easy walk with paddleboards to the water. Sites are clean; love having water and electric hookup. Sometimes neighboors are too loud with their music, and some play loud music from their boats, but that can happen anywhere.

Nice quiet campground, one of our favorites for fall camping. We come back here each year.

I think the beach area should be for campers only and closed for day use. The language and behavior from some people made our swimming experience miserable. We had the same experience last year. This could be easily alleviated by closing the area to day use.

This park is a gem, exceptionally scenic and well maintained. Loop C sites along the lake edge have a pretty severe incline to the actual site however.

Best campground around, but don't tell anyone, we'd like to keep it for ourselves. Site 29 is a very private site, "end of the road". But note that is NOT level front to back. After backing in and leveling our 29' class c, the front tires were 10" off the ground, you may not be comfortable with this.

Early May is the perfect time to be at Goose Point - great weather for kayaking, campground a little over half full, wildflowers and blooming trees everywhere. The bathhouse was clean, not too much boat traffic at the launch or on the water. I can't think of anything that would have made it better!

Water was not turned on and the place to take on water is on a slant so RVs fresh water tank could not get full. Otherwise a beautiful place

We had a lovely four-night stay. We camped down on the peninsula closest to the lake in #29, which we really enjoyed for its spacious size, beautiful view, and privacy. As we are tent campers, we especially like the fire-pit as far as possible from the tent pad, as it is with this site. The staff was pleasant, as always, and the campground and facilities were very clean. Staying late in the season is helpful in avoiding mosquitos, although the ubiquitous stink bugs were ever-present, just as they are at home this time of year. It was too cold to swim and we were too lazy to kayak, but we still had a wonderful time riding our bikes, walking, and enjoying camp life. While in the area, we also searched for Fairy Stones in the nearby hunting grounds. We've already planned a return trip at the end of the month as our last camping trip til spring. This is a great place to stay! Five stars!

We had a great time at Goose Point. This is our go to spot, somewhat locally, as we live in Roanoke.

We were in site #29. Easily the most difficult site to get into I have ever encountered. Probably also the most picturesque in the entire campground but not level and for a bunch of supposed engineers I expect better. We pull a 38’ fifth wheel. Probably good for about 25’ or less. 50 amp service also did

We love Goose Point! This review is for our stay in early April, 2021. We stayed in #29, one of the sites on the lower circle, close to the water. This particular site doesn't have direct access to the water, but it has a 180 degree water view that is just amazing. We also enjoyed a breeze our entire time. We tent camp and I liked that the fire pit is well away from the tent pad. Backing into the site might be a tad challenging, but we had no difficulty with our small 4' x 6' hauler. We had our grandchildren with us on this trip and appreciated the fairly close proximity of the shower house and the swim beach. Everything was clean and well-maintained.

A beautiful campground! Such a beautiful view from every direction. We had lot 29 and were very happy. Dont forget to fill up with water first in November. My only complaint was that the dump station was closed so we had to go to Gairy stone campground and pay 10.00 to use theirs.

Goose point is beautiful. The lake is so nice, and all the people there were kind. We lost our canopy to a rouge thunderstorm wind and our neighbor campers helped us, running over in the middle of the storm to help us get it down. After the storm a lot of trees were down and the park service was there within the hour to clear things out, and they also went around to all the campsites asking after everyone to be sure we were all OK. Aside from all that, the beach is really nice, and has a beautiful view of open water and mountains. We were lucky enough to have a campsite on the water, but there are really no "bad" sites. They are all gorgeous. The showers and bathrooms are clean and nice. It is also not a huge camp, so there are not a ton of people or overcrowding. There is a great boat dock, and a place to tie off your boat on the beach so you can just keep it in the water while you are there. Super nice place.
