Beautiful campground with friendly and helpful staff. ....BUT bathrooms are broken down, specifically the shower stalls. I'm the men's shower a pair of vise grips was attached to the diverter (and taped together to discourage removal) because the actual handle was broken. I was glad they were there but the diverter needed to be fixed. Also, the handheld shower head was cracked and leaked - shot a steam of water out the back).The women's showers were worse. The handicap stall was out of order the entire time we were there (almost 2 weeks) and there was no door on the other stall for several days. Fortunately, they were cleaned regularly, though it wasn't clear what the schedule for that was and it seemed to change by the day.

We absolutely love coming to Goose Point. The park is well maintained and kept clean. We loved it so much we did a video with a great review and put it on our YouTube channel.

Spent four nights in site 16. Awesome view of the beautiful and clean lake. Much less boat traffic than Smith Mountain or Lake Anna. Sites 6-8 are best for lake access with kayaks however, we made our own access. Decent patrolling by park ranger and sheriff department. Not a lot of rules with regards to number of vehicle side at campsites. However, with that said, the campground was very quiet. No parties except a sweet 16 and a child’s birthday. Love the fact that the gate closes at dark and you need a code to reenter. Loop C is by far the best loop in the campground, especially with water views. The other two loops are tight and cramped sitting on a hillside without a view. Bathhouse at the top of the hill is the largest, cleanest and nicest in the campground. Bathhouse in Loop C is less than desirable in my opinion. Bathhouse facilities should never be shared with day use visitors. The bathhouse is outdated small, and cannot handle the volume on weekends. The visitor center was nice and worth the drive. Firewood was reasonably priced all pine.

Music at twin ridge is wonderful. Wish every weekend. Store at Marine is great for spoiling grandbaby with ice cream... wish they had scooped ice cream. Lake is quiet family lake. LOVE IT

Goose Point is an excellent location. The lake is very interesting with many coves along the shoreline to explore. Most sites heavily shaded.
It could be difficult to maneuver larger rigs/trailers on some of the sites. The lower branch of the area has many sites on the water. Site 16 is small but has a great unobstructed view east. In the Summer it could be warm/hot in the early morning. The shade would come as the day moves on.
There is a boat ramp nearby. The bathrooms are clean with 2 showers.
The dump station is on a slight incline. Dumping may not be 100%. Depends on your configuration.
Book early

Nicest campground we’ve ever camped in by far. Sites are spacious, level, and spread out. Restroom/shower rooms were always clean. Gate personnel were very pleasant and welcoming. Drive to bottom of the dam was worth it. Visitors center and observation area overlooking dam was nice.

4*This is a very nice campground. 3* is for the site 16 needs to more level. 2* for not being clean at the picnic area. Other campers and day use people leave it a mess like food left on tables corn cobs on the floor and ground.. 1* for the older host for being unfriendly.

camping is always great at goose point this trip the weather left a lot to be desired ,wendy and cold . we already have reservations for fall just hope weather is better
