This place is heaven. I can see why people book sites 6 months in advance. We did the same thing! We were in Loop A, site 45, which is the best site in that loop, for sure. But while there, we coveted the lake front sites of Loop C. So we immediately booked a lake front C site for six months from now. It's a quiet, perfect place to be still, to move, to be inspired, to rest, to walk, to think. We learned so much about the geography, history, engineering, mythology of the place. Not one thing needs to be improved here. Perfect.

What an amazing campground! The surroundings are breath taking, and there is plenty to do for all interests; the Blue Ridge Parkway is pretty close & easily accessible, several large recreational lakes, hiking, lots of wineries within a two hour circumference. Something for everyone in your party. The campground has convenient, clean bathroom facilities at each loop. The wonderful staff are very personal, friendly, professional, and accommodating! We camped during leaf season which was absolutely breath taking & are already planning a return trip for next summer. You will NOT be disappointed!

We just love the mountains and Goose Point seems to offer camping for everyone. Trailers, tents, and motorhomes are all welcomed. But call ahead because not all camp sites will fit long trailers. It is more or less in three sections, bottom down by the water is for trailers mostly, center is for tents and upper section trailers and tents. Upper section best for phone service and more quiet. Very nice people working there and clean . Will go again.

Goose Point is a good place to camp. You need to be aware that the campsites in Loop A are pretty tight and some of them are a challenge to back into, but most of the sites seemed fine.
