Love this park. It was relatively empty compared to months before. Talked with another camper and they said when you book it shows full but when you get there lots of spaces. Also - lower tree limbs as well as though encroaching on road really need to be clipped.

Lower campground is lovely, water views from every site. Water is murky, bring a filter or tote your own. Shower clean.

This is a beautiful campground with many of the sites on the lake. The site we had was level (23 Looc) and shaded. The bathhouse was conveniently located and was well maintained. There is ample parking at the boat dock and a huge pavilion to enjoy larger gatherings or fishing of the dock. There is a short hike on the edge of the undeveloped part of the lake. Our cell service was good. (Verizon). The sunset over the lake was very beautiful. We have stayed here twice and will be back. Be sure to check out Fairy Stone State Park which is close by. Also there is a 1950s type gas station (they pump the gas for you) next to the only property where fairystones can be found. He allows parking with some restrictions (pets, smoking, fires, etc) also his gas is at least $.25 a gallon less than any stations around there.

The park agents went above and beyond their duty. They drove my husband up to get wood since we didn't have a tow vehicle. The restrooms were super clean.

Great views. Very friendly staff. Large private sites. We visited the town of Bassett. Surprised to learn it was the home of Bassett Furniture.

Very nice campground. The proximity of the beach and boat launch make this spot awesome. The only thing that brings this location down a little is the day use people at the beach. Foul language, but this could happen anywhere.

It’s a beautiful setting and we are definitely returning next year!! I hope you will consider putting trash disposal within walking distance of the campground rather than having to drive to a dumpster and also have a recycling station.

Goose point is one of the very nicest campgrounds I've ever visited. The grounds are immaculate, the campsites are all neatly kept, spacious and require very little leveling. Every site has a picnic table, fire pit and lantern post. Shower houses are kept very clean and well lit at night. It's no wonder that, even during a week when overnight temperatures were near freezing and highs during the day only in the mid 40s, that this campground had very few empty sites while we were there. The U.S. Corps of Engineers should be put in charge of all national park campgrounds if this is an example of their work. I recently stayed at Peaks of Otter, another national park campground and it is badly in need of major upgrades and maintenance. Goose Point is the perfect family campground as it features a playground, a beach area and swimming for the summer months as well as a boat launch. The Blue Ridge Parkway is within easy driving distance as is the town of Floyd, VA.

We love camping at Goose Point. It is family friendly and every campsite has been clean and ready for us at check-in. The staff is friendly and very courteous.

I had a wonderful time at Goose Point! Everyone was super friendly, the campground and my camp site were clean, and the bath house was immaculate. Loop C is the most popular since it's on the water, so it was full but not noisy and it never felt overly crowded. I kayaked around the lake, where I saw a swimming bear (!); explored the nearby Fairystone Farms wildlife management area; and hiked at Fairy Stone State Park.

The campground areas were very nice. Good set up. The park is beautiful and the staff were very polite and helpful. We had a nice time. It was very relaxing.
