Salthouse Branch review: i camped at site 33 twice now as a stopping point of my trip to Tennessee. My first stop I did a review noting that the campsite was not cleaned after the previous camper left. The camp host job is more than just checking campers in. We found trash in the fire ring and around the site and its no different this visit. Walking around the campground the grounds and other sites are the same. On a personal note why is the ADA site so far from the bathhouse. I have limited mobility and theres no red parking near the bathhouse to provide easy access either.

The campground is dated and could use a little love. The previous camper for site 33 used the fire ring as a trash disposal of cans cigarette butts and chicken bones. The ring also has a heavy layer of ashes. My wife and I removed the trash. The restrooms and showers were nice. The ADA site is pretty far from the restrooms.

It was a good get away for us the wife has stage 4 liver cancer and she loves to camp the weather was in the mid 90 so we road to Rockey knob and had lunch it 77 there with a breeze. This was our 3rd time camping at Salthouse this year.

I have stayed here many times and have enjoyed it. my only problem this time was getting in and out of site 33. The site is long but getting in and out of it is difficult. My camper is just over 35 ft and getting around trees and sharp turns was tight

Gateperson was new, gave me a hard time about our seniors' golden pass. It was my understanding it was first my husband and myself, but he wasnt with me this trip. I reserved for two nights but only made it the second night, so the discount wasnt even realized. He sent the park ranger down, and then the next shift park ranger came down to complete the registration the attendant failed to do. It was just allot of nonsense over our pass, which I've used in other parks without a problem.
