Large area for tents. Large parking lot for trailers. Great shaded picnic area. Good times!

The site is very large, and we were a group of 12 staying over a Saturday night. There are plenty of tables and access to the river. Be wary of poachers trying to stay on a corner of your site!

This campground is great for groups. Bathrooms were clean and well stocked. Site is fantastic for a big group. Good shade, tables, big fire pit, and lots of nice smooth ground for tents. 10/10

Other reviews noted that you end up with a lot of people either camping in the periphery, or blatantly right in your space. I didn’t think it would be that bad.
It was far worse than I imagined. I’d say each night we had 10-15 cars, trucks, vans, trailers trolling through the parking. Half looked around and moved on. The other half rolled the lot and either decided it was fine for them to do whatever they wanted, or they would circle a few times shining headlights and idling a big diesel truck till they moved on. This happened at all hours of the night.

During the day the camp ground is overflow for the local trail, so it was 100 cars deep with people in and around our camp the camping area.

I with they would add some better signage to separate the parking from camping, or at least put up campground full signs when the place is full.

All in all we did have a nice time. It was just frustrating to deal with hordes of people having paid 250/night.

Great campground, tons in space, and beautiful views. Just wish it had running potable water.

We were in Group campsite C. We had a fairly large group but not one to fill the large space. The sign on the entry to the camp area clearly state Group sites and their is a board with the listing of who has it reserved and what dates. SEVERAL people would just show up a d start pitching tents on our reserved site. We became the campsite landlords so we didn’t have random people poaching in our reserved area. It became ALMOST funny... we were worried every time we all left for an activity that there would be more people set up on our site that were not part of our group. Very annoying!!!! So, be warned. The site location is absolutely beautiful and there is direct access to the river and small beach area. Perfect for kids which we had plenty of. The Corona and Bowtie arch trailhead is directly across the street. A pretty hike to see the arches and is well worth it.

The Gold Bar campsite is beautiful, clean, and perfectly located. It sits right on the Colorado River, and the canyon views are unmatched. I have stayed here many times, and will continue to do so year after year. One of the highlights are the views at night when it gets so dark you can clearly see the milky way. The trail to the Corona Arch is right across the street, where you can hike to the arch and climb around directly underneath. Access to Arches National Park is about a 10 minute drive away and Canyonlands is about an hour away. Make Canyonlands one of your stops for sure; I enjoyed the views at Island in the Sky better than the Grand Canyon! The city of Moab is also nearby with so many wonderful eateries and little shops. You can also enjoy a hot shower in town! I would absolutely recommend this campsite to anyone looking for a red rock, desert experience.
